How good are you at sticking to your promises?

Happy New Year!

I hope that your new year has got off to a good start? 

For me this week I’ve enjoyed a fun week in the Lake District with our family before getting back into my normal routine on Monday.  Thankfully our winter illnesses have stayed away so we were energetic climbing some hills, running and cycling around the area and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Switching off is important, especially in my role where you invest a lot of time and emotion helping others.   So come Monday I’ll be back firing on 100%.

To help you get firing too you may enjoy today’s podcast.  It is part two of four specially created episodes to celebrate reaching 150 episodes! This time the episode is created with soccer and football fanatics in mind where the great guests that have been interviewed on the show to date, and with experiences in soccer or football, go on to share their key take home messages. As you’ll note the insights are related to the integration of sports psychology, the development of mental toughness, coach development and a lot more! The episode is a must listen for football or soccer coaches, players, parents, sport scientists and those interested in the sport.

If football or soccer is not your thing, last week’s episode is proving popular and could give you lots of inspiration too.  The messages come from different angles where a mental toughness practitioner, mental performance coaches and Olympians discuss mental toughness and horse riding, track and field, bobsleigh, cricket, swimming and skiing.  We also have sports psychologists and an occupational therapist who share great insights into elite level golf, gymnastics, the complexities surrounding sport and parenting as well as long term injuries and the subsequent impact on one’s mental health.
